The core activity of GSF is the development of environmental and energy efficiency projects in relation to ships and the maritime industry. We initiate new projects regularly and usually have 1-3 on-going projects within different thematic areas.
It is entirely up to our members to decide what the next GSF project is about. Project ideas can be presented or developed collaboratively at a members’ meeting, or can be initiated in between meetings.
We encourage our members to use the GSF network and involve as many members as possible in the ideation process, in order to ensure a more holistic and ambitious project
A GSF project can be characterized by:
Being developed in collaboration between several GSF partners
Presenting ambitious goals for innovation and novelty
Considering the business case at an early stage
Delivering cutting edge green solutions for and beyond compliance
Dealing with legal compliance and documentation
Thematically, we usually take a point of departure in one or more of the following areas:
Machinery – production and consumption of energy
Propulsion
Operation and maintenance
Logistics
General design
Projects can relate to both retro-fitting and new buildings.
Can my project become a GSF project?
You are always welcome to contact the secretariat for a talk on how your idea could fit into the network.
You can find more information on our current projects in the menu on the left.
